I loved every part of this book. So authentic and moving.
  • Not poetry but it’s good.

Saw snippets online every time I browsed through Instagram or a Facebook. People were constantly sharing parts of this book so I decided to read it (after a very long time).... as a victim, I understand all of the hurting portion... it’s hard to put those feelings into words; yet here it is. I get the point but the wording still doesn’t seem appropriate. But I can’t put someone else’s hurtful experiences into words. The rest was short and sweet. I was interested in all Rupi Kaur books before actually reading one, lost interest here. I think this is a hit or miss. Either you like it or you don’t.

  • Amazing

Before reading this book, I wasn’t very interested in books like it. Poetry just wasn’t interesting to me, but then I read this and I went on to buy the sun and her flowers, as well. I was not disappointed by either!!
  • Not for men

..or at least not directly for men, men may have “something to gain” from it. But it’s certainly not for a male audience.
  • Astonishing!

I couldn’t put it down. Literally finished the book and bought more from her! This is a book I’d recommend to any and everyone. A book that touches your soul you may start with tears, but you feel as if your healed by the end.

  • wasn’t very intriguing

i bought this and her other book because a lot of people- both friends and acquaintances- recommended it to me. however, i don’t understand the hype. MOST (not all!) of the poems are just sentences that are divided into different stanzas, and have nothing that relates to a real poem. there’s no metaphors, rhyming, etc. it doesn’t have a distinctive style and isn’t all that emotional or beautiful. it’s very disappointing. some of her poems are very beautiful, like the construction one. but i can’t say that for maybe 80% or more of the book.
